My name is Colin Vandenberg and I write, most often, from my home on Lake Winnipeg. It’s been a little over a year since I began Sons of Ash and I have every intention of continuing through the next year. Writing these posts has been a rich process of introspection and personal development and I am grateful to those who have taken the time to read and engage with me on what is often quite personal but which, I believe, is ultimately universal.
I’m interested in reflecting on what it means to live meaningfully and with intention. Writing as a man, masculinity has been a recurring theme, and will continue to be one. I’m also very interested in the discord between society and nature, ideas of morality and spirituality, and the dynamic perplexities of relationships. I’ll be posting a couple times a week for the next little while. I’d be more than happy to hear from anyone interested in having dialogue about anything I’ve written.
I also began a new project this past summer at www.foodforaday.wordpress.com where I hope to raise awareness around hunger issues, specifically in Malawi.
